Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is an excellent first step into Cosmetic Dermatology. In about 30  minutes, dry, dull skin is eliminated and smoother healthy skin is revealed.  Microdermabrasion can be used as a stand alone treatment or in conjunction with initiation of a skin care regimen and chemical peels. Using the latest technology available, a painless sweeping motion is made over the skin with a sterile diamond-tipped wand. sloughing off unwanted skin. Microdermabrasion is a very versatile treatment and can be used as a stand alone procedure or in conjunction with a skin care regimens and chemical peels for anti-aging and wrinkle reduction.  It may also be used to treat acne scars and sun damage.  This is a relaxing treatment  which can be done without any down time as it leaves little or no redness. Both individual sessions are available as well as discounted packages. 

Botox

Botox has become a popular tool for helping to ease wrinkles that have formed over time on the forehead, in between the eyebrows as well as crows feet.  Botox can also be used to create a slight brow lift, which helps to open the eyes which helps to promote a more youthful appearance. The results of Botox injections are noted about 3-5 days with maximum results within 2 weeks.  Dr. Szylit performs the Botox injections in the practice and is trained to evaluate how much product will be needed to achieve your optimal results. Most patients note a mild redness at the injection sites which dissipate after about an hour or so. 

Dermal Fillers

Dermal Fillers, such as Restylane and Juvederm are used to "plump up"  or "fill in" an area that has developed deep creases.  Many patients request fillers around the sides of the mouth, also known as the "parenthesis" that form over time between the nose and chin. There are times when Dermal Fillers may be recommended in conjunction with Botox to achieve your optimal look.  If you are concerned about mild discomfort with the dermal fillers, our Cosmetic Team can arrange a topical anesthetic be provided to you prior to your treatment.   Immediately following the treatment, there may be slight swelling and bruising at  the injection site which will be reduced within a few days. Full results are generally noted within 10 days.
